About the Collection
The Nashville Public Library’s Veterans History Project Collection is a collection of various first-hand experiences of specific wars by Davidson County veterans. These histories are provided by veterans of World War I, World War II, Korean War, Vietnam War, Persian Gulf, Iraq War, and Afghanistan War. The collection includes letters, photographs, maps, and other informative materials. The bulk of this specific collection is over 400 oral histories given by veterans of these war-time eras. Participants discuss their childhoods, military service, and return to civilian life. This collection was created as part of the Veterans History Project of the American Folklife Center of the Library of Congress.
Access/Restrictions
In library use only. Access is available in the Special Collections Division during regular library hours. Some materials may be protected by copyright (Title 17 US Code).
